As soon as we found out that one of our cousins had decided to tie the knot, the rest of us were in a bit of a tizzy. With one of us coming for only about 2-3 days from the U.S., we needed to plan a bachelorette in Dubai within 48 hours! As far as I know guys were planning a Vegas bachelor party, so we all were going to have some fun. I figured this could be useful for those looking at destination bachelorettes and also those who are last-minute people or even some people like us, upon whom responsibility was thrown. And so, here’s how to pull a successful bachelorette in Dubai within 4 steps:
1. Venue
Lucky for us (not so much on the day after with the hangover), we decided to have our event on a Sunday. Bachelorettes ideally are perfect for a weekend where most people are able to make it, but I see some positives with it being a weekday including favourable ladies night rates as well as more privacy. Keeping privacy in mind, I was really happy to rent out a private pod over at Lucky Voice Dubai, a splendid London-import karaoke bar at the Grand Millennium. Lucky Voice’s private pods come at AED 150 per person minimum spend for two, inclusive of food and drink. This worked out for us perfectly in our group. We also decided to extend for another 2 hours. The bites here are delicious; especially their BBQ wings and wasabi shrimp. Overall, totally worth it and we had a blast! The staff was courteous as well and it’s a pretty cool space – which is why I think it’s perfect for a hen party. You cannot smoke in the pods, which to me was a big plus; however, it was getting very warm in there. All of us had broken sweats within an hour of entering, but to be honest…we didn’t quite care! We were just having so much fun! The pod also had props which made for great pics!
2. Party Gear
One of us picked a lot of party gear from Party Centre, which is THE PLACE for anything celebratory for not very expensive prices. You can even order supplies online with their promo code ‘WELCOME50FF’, but since we were in a hurry, one of us just grabbed them.
3. Limo
I actually got some really good advice from a fellow blogger (thanks Niggi!) who suggested a Cobone or a Groupon. Sure enough, they were plenty of offers but I didn’t want to take a chance and hired a Dodge limo for an hour with one pick up and drop off to Lucky Voice for AED 400 with Dubai Exotic Limo.
4. Cake
The last was the cake. Lucky for me, it was Sugaholic Bakeshop to the rescue! They had the orders custom made to our liking and also delivered right on time! We ordered a selection of red velvet and malteser flavours. I assure you almost all of the cupcakes were sleazy. 😉
And, that’s it! We had a ball of a time and managed to do the seemingly impossible!
Here’s a few pics from that my cousin’s bachelorette in Dubai:
Hope this inspires you the next time you plan a bachelorette or hen party in Dubai! 😉
