You’ve seen my previous post on how what you eat impacts your health, especially when it comes to Hashimoto’s. In order to figure out what I should be eating, I partnered up with Nourishing Dubai to help. I had three days of Nourishing Dubai meals that provided me food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
DAY 1
Breakfast
Chicken chop chop salad with creamy mango vinaigrette
I know what you’re thinking right..a salad for breakfast? I must be out of my frickin’ mind. But I assure you, when I tried that marriage of delicious mango, fresh lettuce and chicken it really kept me full all the way till dinner. If you prefer a vegan breakfast (like muesli and the like) the guys at Nourishing Dubai would be happy to accommodate your preferences.
Lunch
Detox power foods salad with sliced steak
This lunch truly wowed me. Who would’ve thought strawberries, kale, steak and sunflower seeds would ever go together. The dressing in this was zesty and fresh. I approve!
Dinner
Honey chicken chipotle bowl
Armed with some quinoa, this was one delicious dish that fuelled. The chicken went well with the quinoa and really appealed to my taste buds.
DAY 2
One of the symptoms of Hashimoto’s I suffer from is brain fog. It interferes with my daily work and concentration. Today, almost magically I felt truly energetic and sprightly. I even had noticeably higher energy levels!
Breakfast
Almond crusted paleo chicken strips
These were served with the most divine aioli dip and got me pretty excited for breakfast that morning!
Lunch
Lunch was another variation of a salad on day 1 that I enjoyed so much, I forgot to take a picture of it. Oops.
Dinner
Dinner was the most exceptional lamb cabbage rolls that tasted almost akin to a lasagne in flavour. Delicious to boot, so much so that my brother actually took part of my dinner leaving me very hungry!
DAY 3
On day 3 during my morning workout, I felt so much more lighter and energised. It’s amazing how food can also impact your mood!
Breakfast
Breakfast was this splendid sweet spinach pancakes and blueberry sauce. Exceptional, even though I had my qualms about it. F.C. (who detests spinach btw) tried it and enjoyed it as well.
Lunch
Lunch was a fix of very fresh BBQ white fish tacos made with buckwheat and a side salad. I am not a fan of buckwheat in terms of texture, but this meal kept me very satiated.
Dinner
My last, very sad (on my end) dinner was a delightful teriyaki beef with zoodles (zucchini noodles). I heated them up a bit in the pan and they made a very satisfying meal!
Overall, I really enjoyed my meals from Nourishing Dubai. Granted, I didn’t lose any weight, but I was more satiated with my food, noticed a distinct reduction in cravings and was a bit relieved from a few Hashimoto’s symptoms!
Also, I got a special delivery yesterday and tried their pizza bombs. Omg. I never knew vegan cheese tasted this damn good.
If you’re clueless about Hashimoto’s I suggest you read the first post in my series. It should help!
Nourishing Dubai was developed as a means to help individuals with not only Hashimoto’s, but those with autoimmune issues in general. Their kitchen facility and all of the meals are 100% free from gluten, dairy, eggs, soy and genetically modified organisms which an heavily burden the immune system. Check them out here!
DISCLOSURE: I was offered complimentary meals as part of a genuine journalistic enquiry on Hashimoto’s disease to get an idea on how to heal your gut. Opinions are purely my own.
