For my second #NomWithMe event, I was happy to take EK out to Garden Grille, located just by the Mall of the Emirates at the Hilton Garden Inn. The restaurant’s interiors looked brand new and recently revamped with its surroundings matching the garden theme.
To start off our meal, we tried the caprese salad; which arrived fresh and delicious with a tinge of balsamic vinegar.
I tried the crab cakes, which were of a generous quantity and very tasty, save for the accompanying sauce which was tart and unappetising. It was also slightly greasy, but not carrying a seafood smell, which was a plus in my opinion.
We then moved on over lots of chatter to our main courses. EK opted for a mixture of arrabiata and alfredo sauce in her pasta whereas I opted for the interesting sounding lamb chops coated in Middle Eastern spices, with pomegranate quinoa and pumpkin.
I got my lamb chops cooked medium rare, because that’s how I liked them. The coating on the lamb was undoubtedly tasty, but a bit too thick for my liking. The pomegranate quinoa was possibly my favourite dish of the night; it was citrus-y and cut cleanly through the fattiness of the lamb; thus creating a wonderful balance. The pumpkin accompaniment however, did nothing for the dish.
Even though I was just way too stuffed, I wasn’t one to walk away without dessert. We opted for the Hilton Garden Inn Signature Waffle embossed with the logo. Served extremely fresh, I went very well with the cream cheese and berries.
Overall, a really fun heart to heart with EK at #NomWithMe. 🙂 If you’re interested in joining me for a workout or tasting, do sign up here.

How was the waffle?
Better than I thought it would be! Pillow-y soft and went very well with the cream cheese and salted caramel sauce.
